July 13-14, 2004
Venue: The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel
Sponsored by: The Arthur and Rochelle Belfer Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science
Workshop Theme: Many interesting scientific
and industrial problems involve
a wide range of scales, which makes the underlying multi-scale phenomenon too
difficult to study analytically and still out of reach computationally. Many
scientific tools have been developed, over the years, to investigate this
challenging problem. In this informal workshop, the participants will discuss
real world multi-scale problems and some of the mathematical and scientific
techniques to approach them.
