Designing and implementing a general purpose data base which represents a computer system ; supervising an M.Sc. student to complete implementation. 2. Developing drivers for I/O devices, using a Z-80 Microprocessor system to emulate an IBM multiplexer channel and to provide operational control of a laboratory computer, being developed in the Department of Applied Mathematics. 3. Writing micro-code procedures to the PROM of above computer. 4. Aiding scientists in the Vision group. This involved installing software packages for Image Processing, writing and installing device drivers on SUN-2 and SUN-3 computers, developing special tools and supervising students. Language was C. All was done under the UNIX system. 1977-1979 Systems Analyst, Weizmann Institute of Science, Computing Center, Data Processing Group. Work included: 1. Fairly complex reports for the projects management in the Weizmann Institute. 2. Developing tools for data entry and retrieval, using TTY screens. 3. Designing and implementing a data-processing system for PERAH, the all-over the country tutoring project, using DB1(Better known as Sapiance) for data-base management system. 1974-1977 Senior Engineer, GTE-Sylvania, Electronic Systems Group; On loan to GTE-Laboratories (July 1974- august 1976). Member of Technical Staff, GTE-Labs., Electronic Technology Laboratory, from August 1976. Worked on the CAD project, to provide an automated design capability for printed circuit boards. Work included problem definition and analysis, algorithms development and implementation , design and coding. Language was PL/I. Structured software techniques were used extensively. 1972-1974 Systems Programmer, Weizmann Institute of Science, Department of Applied Mathematics, Computer Systems Group. Developed run-time I/O environment for FORTRAN-produced object programs for GOLEM B computer, and wrote portions of the FORTRAN compiler. 1969-1971 Teaching Assistant, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Department of Mathematics.
