At the Weizmann Institute of science we constructed a very well controlled database of faces (Yael Moses, yael@wisdom.weizmann.ac.il). It includes variations due to changes in viewpoint (mainly horizontal), illumination (only horizontal), and three different expressions. The database of faces can be found in two sites: 1. ftp ftp.wisdom.weizmann.ac.il (as anonymous) cd edelman/disk3 2. ftp ftp.eris.weizmann.ac.il (as anonymous) cd pub/FaceBase Between the two sites you will find all the images. There are about 28 faces. The name of the files are as follows: name-vp?-il?-ex? where vp? ?={0,1,2,3,4}, where il? ?={0,1,2,3} where ex? ?={0,1,2} For some il and ex there are more vp, you can 'ls' on a name and see. The images are compressed and in a raw format with size 512x352. The pixels are not squares but have a ratio x:y 12:11. If you need any assistant, I will be happy to help. Please let me know if anything interesting came out of it. Yael Moses (yael@wisdom.weizmann.ac.il)
