The Foundations of Cryptography - Volume 3

Oded Goldreich

Volume 3 was supposed to cover material Beyond the Basics, where by the basics we mean the basic tools and applications presented in Volume 1 and Volume 2, respectively.

Volume 3 was aimed to provide a treatment of a variety of more advanced security concerns as well as to discuss the effect of Cryptogrpahy on the rest of Computer Science (and in particular complexity theory). In retrospect, we feel that the first direction is more adequate for a collection of surveys (see, e.g., Tutorials on the Foundations of Cryptography (edited by Yehuda Lindell)), whereas the second direction is addressed in our book Modern Cryptography, Probabilistic Proofs and Pseudorandomness. Thus, the plans for writing such a volume was abandoned.
