Well its been a hard couple of weeks - what else could it be? The girls are developing nicely as usual and came through their last doctor's appointment with flying colors. Noa weighed in at a whopping 4.17 kg, Keren at 3.7 kg and Shahar at 3.67 kg. All girls have gained around 400 gr in the last ten days.
We are starting to get small hints of their social smiles, which although rare are a real treat when you happen to get one. The girls' personalities are also starting to appear, with Shahar starring as the sly manipulative tease, who will charm you off your feet if you're good to her, or give you a dose of her JAP whine from here until hell freezes over, otherwise. Some people, like Olga (one of the grand mothers ), fall for that old one; others, like me, turn a deaf ear until she falls asleep, which usually happens after a couple of minutes of continuous heart-rending crying (I've been considering getting ear plugs or those nifty ear phones for the stereo that you can wear as you walk around.)
Noa seems to be following in Shajar's footsteps, although she has much to learn from the maestro. Her voice (or whine) is far more piercing, seeing as her lung capacity is greater. And, she has this very annoying habit of spitting after she eats, so if you were considering coming over to give us a hand, keep those YSLs at home. Eli and I are convinced that Noa's head weighs at least 5 kg judging from the cramps that we experience in our arms after feeding her. She is a feisty girl and can already do push ups, raising her head and body off the mat or my chest or wherever she happens to be lying at the time.
Finally we come to the jewel among our girls Keren (who, as you may remember, is a good girl). It's as though she doesn't exist sometimes and we have to remind ourselves to put the cry babies down and give some attention to those that behave well (dont worry she has her share of outburst to, but in comparison to the other two it goes to zero). She is so sweet with her Elvish smile and pointy features, contrasted by her round babyish face, and so we've nick-named her gnome. Shajar, for her mean disposition has earned the name, troll, and Noa is groucho.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about them. Please send replies to us. We are always happy to read about the strange doings of normal people in far and exotic lands.
