Introduction to Representation Theory

The course will usually take place on Mondays at 10:15 - 13:00 in Room 155 of the Ziskind Building in the Fall semester 2017. The exercise session by Ary Shaviv will take place on Thursdays 10:15 - 11, same room. The first exercise session will be on Nov 9, and the first lecture will be on Nov 13. We will have ~12 lectures.

Prerequisites: Linear algebra and familiarity with the notion of group. Near end of the course we will also use the notion of topological space and maybe also notion of Hilbert space. The speed and the details level of the exposition of some basic topics will depend on the preliminary knowledge of the audience.
